2020 Dues Update
Important dues update for Members
| Dear Friend: I hope that you and your family are well and keeping safe in these trying times. My fellow ACTRA Ottawa Councillors and I appreciate that these are difficult and unprecedented times for all of us. The spread of the Corona virus around the world and here at home has had an enormous impact on all our daily lives. I want you to know that ACTRA’s elected leaders and staff have been working tirelessly to ensure the operations of our union stay supported. Staff continue to work to ensure that payments owed to our performers are being distributed, membership issues addressed and questions from performers answered. They are answering member concerns as quickly as possible and continue to work with our local industry partners to prepare for the return to work for our members. This year got off to a busy start on the production front and we were looking forward to another banner year for Ottawa members following up on 2019 – our busiest year ever. Obviously, in light of current events, that is not going to happen. However, our members are resilient and continue to find creative opportunities working from home voicing ads, video games, e-books and more. And we are hopeful that when it is safe to do so, and production returns, we will be ready to get to work as quickly as possible. We will continue to build on our success of recent years. We realize, however, that there continues to be a great deal of uncertainty and understand our members are faced with many challenges in their personal and professional lives. To help alleviate some of the stress, ACTRA has further extended our dues payment deadline to August 31, 2020. While ACTRA Ottawa is a small branch within the ACTRA family nation-wide, we strive to provide the full range of services and opportunities that our members expect and deserve, but we need your support if we are going to be able to continue to do so. Although invoices have not been sent, members who are able to pay are encouraged to do so to allow the critical services of the union here in Ottawa and across the country to continue.
